10 Jahre
asisi Panorama DIE MAUER

Originally planned as a project for one to two years, the Panorama site celebrated its 10th anniversary this late summer. We look back on an eventful time with many highlights - certainly including the visit of the then First Lady, Michelle Obama, in 2013. Since then, we have had the pleasure of welcoming state guests and politicians from all over the world, as well as almost 1.5 million visitors. A variety of special exhibitions, TV formats, panel discussions, commemorative and cultural events, such as the Long Night of Museums, make the Panorama a place of diverse remembrance.

The anniversary was celebrated with a colorful program. One of the highlights was the two-week special exhibition BETWEEN WORLDS - Old Walls - New Art: Here, together with the NFT Club Berlin, we presented digital works by young artists on the themes of walls, borders, human rights, war and flight. The diverse wall art, contemporary works and NFTs found their place in the accompanying exhibition of the Panorama.

Together with the Berlin Wall Foundation, we dedicated a panel discussion to the topic "BETWEEN WORLDS - Old Walls - New Art". rbb presenter Petra Gute led through the evening and spoke with the artist Yadegar Asisi, the director of the Berlin Wall Foundation Prof. Axel Klausmeier as well as filmmaker Bernd Sahling about the very different ways of remembering. The musical highlight was the exclusive live concert by Kai & Funky from TON STEINE SCHERBEN with Gymmick. Founding member Kai Sichtermann and Funky K. Götzner, who has been with the band since 1974, celebrated the unforgettable songs of Rio Reiser and the Scherben together with Gymmick. Berliners and tourists were able to visit the Panorama for six days without admission during our free anniversary week. In addition, special tours and film screenings rounded out the visitor program.
